My father has a 92 Dodge Spirit 6 cylinder, and when he turns it on there is a rattling sound, sounds like it is coming from the engine. Sometimes the car would not start when he went to drive it before, so he just got a new battery and starter (even though now sometimes it still does that). But I was just wondering why it might be making that sound. Could it be anything that might get expensive to fix? Just want to know so we don’t worry.

i have a 2006 dodge stratus. it was 46000 miles on it(yea a lot of driving). when i press the gas it makes this squeaking noise. but only when im moving. if the car is in park and i hit the gas. it doesnt make any noise. ill be able to get this fixed on friday. could it be the timing belt or brakes? i still need to get my oil changed and was hoping they could look at the belts also.
