The car does not start, when i turn the key to start the car the engine makes a static noise and the dashboard flickers. I dont know why its like that, this is the second time, last time i just left the car overnight and it worked in the morning, the spark plugs seem fine, the battery seem fine, what could be wrong?

I have got a 03 Vauxhall vectra 1.8. The problem is that during driving at 40mph or any speed car makes funny noise (sounds like exhaust leak). I have replaced both manifold and cat but problem is still there. I also replaced EGR valve as well. Car makes noise when you drive otherwise no noise, very quiet engine.
Anyone else have this problem and find a solution?

To the first answerer : yes my car is a hatchback but it is a V6 with some modifications.

If i am getting a soundsystem put in anytime soon should I be worried that my car won’t be able to handle it?

My mom says if you leave your cars air conditioning on when you turn the car off, so it automatically is on when you turn your car on, that it hurts the engine. Is that true or is she full of BS? It sounds like complete BS to me.
