2000 Chevy Trailblazer -

We finally got it into a position where it could be jumped and instead of turning over, it made a loud clacking noise. The hood was open and I saw the fan trying to turn but it was turning to the rhythm of that noise and perhaps power output. My husband said he had never heard of a noise like that before from just a dead battery. I revved the engine on the good car but that didn’t help.

Thank you.

I’m wondering which model car company makes the best model cars in terms of detail and quality. AutoArt, Kyosho or other…

I had to drive my car in a few inches of snow today. It’s an automatic and I just had it in ‘D’. It was making a gear grinding sound the whole time. I never want above 25 mph. Even later, when the snow was all packed down, it was making this sound. Is that normal?
It’s a 2007 suzuki reno.

I can’t really describe it but when I go to stop my front end makes this squeaking noise, similar to a bed squeaking when it’s jumped on.

is it due to shocks? brakes ( I had new brakes and tires put on this year)?
I had my brakes replaced about 2 months ago.

I have power windows and just recently I noticed that when I press the button to get the windows up and I am not driving (just parked in neutral and car is running) the engine begins to make a low growl like sound that it usually makes when on the verge of stalling. I even tried testing this out with the windows closed and pressing the up button but it still made the same sound. I am a little worried.
To the first answerer : yes my car is a hatchback but it is a V6 with some modifications.

If i am getting a soundsystem put in anytime soon should I be worried that my car won’t be able to handle it?

I’ve heard many times that American muscle cars are big, bulky, and are good only in a straight line. What aspects of the car (or what would you do) affects the car’s ability to go around corners well?

While we’re on the subject, what makes a car handle well? I understand that European cars are renowned for their handling. What, then, is the difference between American cars and European cars? Why such a difference in handling?

The sound stops when I put my foot on the brake, and it is louder when I drive slowly. You can hear it inside the car and outside, which I just noticed yesterday while driving in a parking garage with the window down, it’s quite loud.
Also, about 2 weeks ago, I got a flat tire, had the spare put on and got a new tire the next day. No idea if this has anything to do with it, but thought it may be worth mentioning.
My car is a 99 Honda Civic with 145k miles on it, I’ve had it for almost a year.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I recently purchased a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. When driving on the highway, it starts to make a loud humming sound coming from the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. Any idea on what the problem could be and the price to fix it?

And it only makes this sound when I’m driving slow and I turn (it’s especially noticeable when I’m not moving and I turn the wheel). It’s hard to explain the sound. It just feels like the car is struggling when it turns.

Does my car need more steering fluid?

Thanks a ton for all your answers!!!

I have a crappy little used ‘99 Chrysler Cirrus. I HATE Chrysler and Dodge. I know Toyota and Honda are good. Are there any other car makes that are worthwhile?
